Heat index values are expected to soar well past 100 degrees on Sunday through the middle half of next week, with actual air temperatures the hottest we’ve seen in weeks.
Sunday morning will begin dry and muggy with temperatures in the lower 70s. By the afternoon we’ll see lower 90s return under mostly clear skies. There will be another round of scattered showers and storms.
Temperatures and humidity continue to climb on Monday with head index values approaching 105 degrees.
Tuesday will feature the first high in the middle to upper 90s in more than three weeks with a heat index of 105 to 110.
It remains just as hot with only a hit-or-miss downpour chance through late week before a little relief arrives for next weekend. But even by then, high will still run in the lower 90s.

FORECAST
OVERNIGHT will be mostly clear. The low will be 73. Winds will be out of the south at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
SUNDAY will be mostly clear with a few scattered showers and storms. The high will be 92 with a heat index of 103. Winds will be out of the southwest at 5 miles per hour.
MONDAY will be mostly clear with an isolated downpour. The high will be 93 with a heat index of 105. Winds will be out of the southwest at 5 miles per hour.
