RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A Raleigh man was arrested Thursday on multiple felony charges in connection with the deaths of three of his dog’s puppies earlier this month, court records show.

According to a warrant filed by the Raleigh Police Department, 27-year-old Ernest Lamont Yarborough is accused of denying his dog emergency surgery on June 4, which led to three of her puppies dying.
Yarborough was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with three counts of felony cruelty to animals, according to court records.
Court records show Yarborough was given a $30,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to make his first appearance in Wake County court on Thursday afternoon.
According to court records, Yarborough was arrested by Raleigh police on June 5, the day before he allegedly denied his dog surgery, on a misdemeanor cruelty to animals charge.

The warrant for the misdemeanor charge shows Yarborough is accused of failing to provide veterinary care for a dog on June 5.
The warrants do not say if the dog in both incidents is the same or if the cases are related.
Yarborough was out on a $1,000 unsecured bond in the misdemeanor case when he was arrested in the felony case. His first court appearance in the misdemeanor case is scheduled for July 14, according to court records.
