Butter Bakery, founded by local artist Sara Grace Lane, offers a self-serve experience where customers can grab homemade goodies like her wildly popular cinnamon rolls.

What started as a side hustle, encouraged by Lane’s dad, has blossomed into a thriving business.

“It’s completely honor-system self-serve,” she said. “I’m not here to man it. It takes a lot of trust in the community. It has been way more than I could have ever anticipated. I really had no idea how it was going to blow up, but I think people love how down to earth it is and how grounded it is.”

Lane’s father Curk said, “The community has really rallied around her. This whole concept of Butter Bakery [has] been fascinating to watch.”

Butter Bakery is located at 205 West Main Street.

The bakery restocks on Tuesdays at 7 a.m. and Fridays at 5 p.m. It has a setup where you can pay with cash or Venmo.
